This project is a  collaboration between several partners in Belgium and France in the field of microfluidics, interfacial science, and micromanipulation. Shortly, the rationale of the project is to use surface tension, surface stress and capillary effects in a variety of applications.  The proposed program is highly multidisciplinary, as it combines the forefront research in physics, material science, chemistry and engineering. It covers topics that range from fundamental theory with atomistic simulations to experiments to investigate the fundamentals in conjunction with applied case studies. The project addresses both static and dynamic phenomena, and establish the link between the microscopic properties of liquids and surfaces, and the macroscopic performances expected in the case studies.
